What is this tool?

A step-by-step chord progression builder. Pick a key, choose your first chord, and the tool suggests musically natural next chords based on music theory. Emotion filters let you narrow the suggestions to fit the mood you want — bright, melancholic, tense, and more.

When it helps

  • Create an original progression

When you want to build a progression from scratch. You only pick from suggested candidates, so you can make something musical without deep theory knowledge.

  • Extend a standard progression

Start with high-star (standard) transitions, then mix in a 1-star adventurous option to give your progression character.

  • Nail a specific mood

Filter by Bright, Melancholic, Sophisticated, etc., and only suggestions matching that feel will appear.

How to use

  1. 1 Pick a key and major/minor from the top bar.
  2. 2 Use the emotion filter button to narrow suggestions by mood ("All" shows everything).
  3. 3 Tap "Preview" on a candidate card to hear the chord, then "+ Add" to append it.
  4. 4 Each added chord has 1/2/4 buttons to set its beat length. Use × to remove a chord.
  5. 5 Tap "Play progression" in the dock. Open the settings sheet to adjust BPM and toggle loop.
