About neirocca
neirocca is a learning site built so that music theory is something you hear, not just read. It offers 21 interactive tools — diatonic chords, scales, the circle of fifths, ear training, and more — plus articles that explain how to use them and the ideas behind them, all free of charge.
We write for two kinds of beginners — people who want to start composing, and people who want to deepen how they listen and play — keeping jargon to a minimum and making everything checkable by ear.
The operator's track record in music
Chathello, the operator, has run sites that support piano and music learning for years. neirocca is part of that work, focused specifically on music theory tools.
From sheet music for piano beginners to a board for finding scores and comparison guides for digital pianos and keyboards, we keep building resources that help people take their first step in music (see the sites below).
How we make and check articles and tools
Articles are compiled by the neirocca editorial team, and we focus on presenting note names, chords, scales, functions, and practice steps in a form readers can confirm by actually playing the sound in a tool.
When we discuss well-known songs, we limit ourselves to analysis of chord progressions, keys, and scales, and never republish lyrics, melodies, or sheet music. We add sources for claims open to debate, and we fix errors when we find them. See our editorial policy for details.
